People overweight the importance of P/F vs no P/F. This isn't law or med school, GPA is far from the most important factor in MBA admissions. Yeah, it's not going to look ideal, but as long as you have a good GPA, good GMAT, good work experience (yours is great), you'll be fine for M7 admissions
Thanks for the response! Would be curious to hear about where you've sourced your information from regarding overweighting of P/F. Also, would GPA be looked at via resume header or do you think information will be sourced from transcripts? i.e. difference between a high 3.7 on my transcript if I drop the class vs low 3.7 on my transcript if I don't; might be worth taking the class for a grade if it doesn't make a material difference, right
M7 is a joke these days. anyone with 720 + and a 3.3+ can get into at least one of them with some relevant work experience (TFA, bullshit boutique, F500, etc.) You'll be fine, don't stress.
Yikes, not sure if I would completely agree with that but I'm just an UG what would I know lol. What if I'm interested primarily in HSB/GSB? I feel as though that description definitely underestimates most M7's, but almost definitely underestimates HSB/GSB. Would be interested in your perspective as someone in B-school, and if you're in an M7 that would be great to know too, if possible
Most schools would not care about P/F but Harvard and Stanford have their pick of applicants. They would care.
Have a friend who called the admissions board at HBS and GSB who mentioned that they said they wouldn't consider P/F in the admissions process. Not sure how much of this is just face-saving versus actuality though
Am also interested
I highly doubt MBA programs will care about the individual grades or pass/fails you have in your transcript. If you have a good GPA/GMAT combo then you are good to go. Don't worry about it. Largely only medical schools nitpick your individual grades in specific classes (and perhaps PhD programs although definitely less imo).
Study for the GMAT. You are a student. There's honestly no reason to not get a 750+ as long as you put in the work. Then, you're golden.
