Didn't think I would be told to pursue b-school

Had a 1 to 1 with partner at my fund. He was honest and pretty much told me he thinks b-school would be a good route in order to succeed/stay at the fund. Didn't think I would be told to pursue b-school route, but also not upset about as I know plenty who have and are going through right now and seem to enjoy every bit of it...

To those who didn't think they would need to pursue b-school but were told halfway into their associate program, how did you come to the decision of what comes next? To be clear this isn't definitive (wasn't a formal feedback chat etc.), just a one to one open conversation. Can I change their mind? Is it worth trying to?
