Drop Class or get a C - Nutrition is racist??

Title kind of says it all, Taking nutrition for a gen ed requirement and im most likely going to end with around a C. Should I just drop the class or end with a C, I already dropped one class last semester and currently have a 4.0. The reason for my current grade is honestly the teacher. The coursework isn't hard but compared to my friends who have taken it she teaches it entirely different and completely strays away from what should actually be taught. I had to write a 2000 word paper explaining white supremacy in food systems and how it systematically puts people of color at a disadvantage, it was a summary of an article where we also had to say if we agreed with it. I personally disagreed and couldn't believe this assignment was fucking real. Ended up getting a 50 which I was honestly shocked to see. Not sure wtf to do if anyone has advice please lmk.

Saw a similiar situation during undergrad - happened to a friend in my class. My friend escalated the issue to the teachers boss. The teachers boss attempted to protect the teacher and skirt the issue. Not taking any BS said friend esclated the issue further up the chain to a person with actual power. Said friend, then magically had his essay re-graded from like a 50 or 60 to like a 90.

LOL i mean this in the kindest way possible, but have you ever stopped to consider that the essay you wrote is bad? like the arguments you made were just bad? did you run your essay outline by a TA or the professor during office hours? did you have peers read it over and give you feedback?

the way your post reads, it sounds like you were offered up some ideas outside of what you were comfortable with (white supremacy and food consumption patterns) and you were so personally taken aback by it that you failed to offer up intellectual reasons for why you disagreed

anyway, probably best to drop the class. sounds like you should stick to what you're comfortable with if you want that good gpa!

Consulted with my Resident Academic Mentor basically an older undergrad that is a mentor and they said that the essay looked fine. Maybe I should have added that I have many friends in the class who received similar grades and are also complaining.

thats fair - maybe you did write a good essay but your prof isnt a very good teacher. in that case, ill echo what others have pointed out and say ultimately you should play to your audience. this'll be a valuable skill for when you enter banking/consulting/whatever profession you're interested in (can't tell you how many times ive had to change the wording on a slide or tweak a model assumption because "it doesn't look right")
