Experience before B-school, MM PE job or switch companies/countries to a larger bank
Currently employed by largely unknown MM PE firm on the portfolio management side and weighing my options: A) transition into our deal team (dept. director has agreed to phase me in if I want) B) or take up an offer to work abroad at a much larger bank with no guaranty of what my function will actually be (but probably not IB)
A few data points:
- This is my first job out of college
- Work is very broad but primarily w/ energy, CRE and structured products at my current firm
- I intend to work for another two years in whichever new position I get before applying to B-school
- Hope to stay in PE after my MBA
All other things the same (interviews, GMAT, etc.), which experience do you think would add the most to my profile as a future applicant?
All input is welcome, thanks!
