Gap year for LSE/Oxbridge econ or stick w Warwick econ

Hello, I am a home student in the UK and my goal is to break into IBD, I  am not fussed as to what sort of IB whether its a boutique, BB, MM, EB or whatever as long as it is IB and is a somewhat established firm. I currently have an offer for warwick economics and will likely meet the offer. Now this time in applying to unis i was super close to LSE and oxford , and I didn't apply UCL but if i took a gap year i could. I am thinking if i could work hard and apply imperial/lse/oxford again maybe I would have a shot of making it into one (obvs not guaranteed but would need to work). My question is should I do it, others have said warwick is a target and it does not make as much of a difference as your individual work ethic etc do, but I am not sure as LSE/oxford seem to have an aura for IBD (i am not sure). on the other hand it is a lost year, where theoretically by the time i start uni in september 2027 if i was good at warwick i could have had a spring week and converted it already

any advice? anyone had a similar dilemma?

Should i take a gap year to reapply LSE / OXBRIDGE/ IMPERIAL

Lost year. And what makes you sure you will get into one of those places after a gap year? COlleges get more competitive as years pass not less. Warwick kids place pretty well, and if anything you just do a one year masters at a LBS/LSE/Oxford and you're gucci. Warwick is a good enough school that if yu are top of class, good internships and good excurics it won't be a barrier for you placing well.

Warwick is still a main target.... genuinely no reason to skip out. Admission won't be guaranteed back into Warwick next year, neither will into those other schools. Either way it will be same application pool for opps - where Warwick is often one of the top dogs anyways.
