GMAT of 740 enough for 2020 MBA App?
I just got a 740 in my GMAT (Q50, V40). I was wondering if this would be enough for an MBA application in 3 years time for the top US institutions (Harvard, Sloan, Wharton, Stanford etc.), especially considering grade inflation. Definitely know I could improve verbal a bit (had a headache in exam) but unsure whether the marginal cost/effort is worth it

If you think you can do better, absolutely retake. It sounds like you have the time to do so. Worst case, you cancel the score and its like it never happened. Best case, you get into a better school, or the same schools but with more $$$.
Hard to provide a perspective without knowing your demo (gender, race, ethnicity, etc.), since these factors will have a pretty big effect on whom you'll be compared with.
