GMAT Scores -5 Years from Application or Matriculation?

I'm a college senior planning on taking the GMAT this May. I've always assumed that since scores last five years as long as I want to apply in the next 5 years I'll be fine, but I've been seeing some info (mostly older sources) saying some schools require the gmat to be from 5 years before matriculation, not application.

Say I'd start business school in August 2022 but my exam was only from May 2017, does that mean it wouldn't be valid for certain schools? What schools have this policy? My expectation was that I'd be fine because I'd apply around January 2022 for August 2022 enrollment.
