Good news, WUSTL(Olin) now offers scholarships for all specialized master programs!

Just talked to them and confirmed this. I know they repelled a lot of candidates including myself because of their no scholarship policy.

I'm actually surprised about this because of the fact that Claremont is closed which stole a lot of applicants. This is a good thing though, will help convince some applicants to go here vs elsewhere.

WUSTL's biggest competitor is Vanderbilt, which has been dominating in cross-admits. WUSTL has the superior program (curriculum wise) but Vandy has a stronger name and better recruiting (extremely close connections with big 4 valuation shops, effectively setting the salary floor at ~$75,000). This will allow WUSTL to compete more closely with Vandy.

I think both are great programs and great schools. Vanderbilt though focuses a lot more on placements which is an advantage but doesn't make it better than Olin.

Vanderbilt actively seeks out and establishes relationships with large firms that (a) sponsor and (b) have national, continuous recruiting needs. This does a long way in boosting its placement statistics, especially for international's. WUSTL seems to be content (at least when I went there) to rely on its name brand and the quality of the education provided.
