HEC vs EDHEC - Master in Finance

I am hesitating between HEC and EDHEC Msc Finance.

I know that HEC probably has a better name and it offers the best Msc in finance, according to Financial Times. However, I've also heard that EDHEC has an excellent research centre and their Master in Finance has been called the "best in France". FT's also published an article about the programme.

I've got a really competitive scholarship offer from EDHEC (40% of tuition), but basically nothing from HEC. What should I do? Should I consider going to EDHEC instead of HEC? How good is actually EDHEC Msc in finance?

Any relevant info, suggestion is appreciated!

If you intend to do your career in the francophone world, ignore the ranking and do HEC, which will place you squarely (almost) within the French elite and its connections. It's not as good as the "proper" HEC Grande Ecole but the name opens doors and you will be around them, useful for when they are running the CAC 40.

Go to HEC... At HEC you'll have classes taught by CAC 40 CEOs and since it's in Paris and it's the best school for French students (Grande Ecole Programme), all the best companies in any industries will attend the career fairs etc It's true that EDHEC is quite strong in Risk Management Research but that's it, it's not even close to HEC in France and even more abroad since HEC is pretty much the only one known abroad. However, Edhec is still ranked 5th by French students so it's a good school but since you have HEC => Hec.

I intered in IBD in Paris and the only "specialized master ~ Msc" targetted by my department were HEC Finance, EM Lyon Msc in Corporate Finance and probably ESSEC and ESCP.
