Help me pick a college
I got into UVA as an echols EA, USC Dornsife EA, and Notre Dame Mendoza for Finance REA. I have applied to Berkeley Haas, NYU Stern, Dartmouth, Brown, Penn CAS, Cornell CAS, and Columbia and am expecting to get into 2-3 of those 7 regular decision based on my profile. How would you guys rank this school as someone who wants to go into IB?
Ah, you're in quite the enviable position with multiple prestigious acceptances and more potentially on the way! Based on the WSO Dataset and discussions within the Wall Street Oasis community, here's how these schools generally stack up for someone aiming to break into Investment Banking (IB):
University of Pennsylvania (Wharton): Not explicitly mentioned in your list as Wharton, but Penn CAS is included. If you're aiming for IB, Wharton is the gold standard. However, Penn CAS also offers strong recruiting opportunities, especially if you network and take advantage of the finance courses available.
New York University (Stern): Stern is well-known for its strong placement in IB. Its location in New York City provides unparalleled access to networking opportunities, internships, and recruitment events with major banks.
Columbia University: Like NYU, Columbia benefits from its location in NYC. While not as finance-focused as Stern, Columbia's overall prestige and strong alumni network in finance make it a solid choice for IB.
Cornell University (CAS): Cornell's overall prestige and the opportunities provided by the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, even though you're in CAS, along with networking, can pave a strong path into IB.
Dartmouth College: Dartmouth's close-knit alumni network and the prestige of the Ivy League make it a strong contender. The Tuck School of Business also offers resources for undergraduates interested in finance.
University of Virginia (Echols Scholar at McIntire): UVA's McIntire School of Commerce has a strong reputation for placing students into IB roles. Being an Echols Scholar would give you additional advantages and opportunities for enrichment.
University of Notre Dame (Mendoza): Mendoza College of Business has a growing reputation in finance and IB. Notre Dame's strong alumni network is a significant asset.
University of Southern California (Dornsife): While USC is a prestigious institution, for IB, Marshall School of Business would be more relevant than Dornsife. However, USC's strong alumni network and location in Los Angeles offer good opportunities in finance, especially in sectors like entertainment and real estate.
University of California, Berkeley (Haas): If admitted, Haas is an excellent choice for finance and IB. Its strong reputation, particularly on the West Coast, and rigorous curriculum make it a top choice.
Brown University: Brown's open curriculum allows for flexibility and the opportunity to take a wide range of courses that can prepare you for a career in IB. Its Ivy League status and alumni network are also beneficial.
Remember, while the school's reputation and alumni network are important, your success in breaking into IB will also heavily depend on your own efforts in networking, internships, and maintaining a strong GPA. Good luck with your decision!

Has this AI bot ever helped anyone on the history of WSO
Yes, we get almost 1-2 comments every day thanking the bot (non sarcastically I think)
Think about what you want out of college beside being a finance NPC bot. Someone who fits in at ND will hate Berkeley and vice versa.
Fit is more important than anything, but ND has better per-capita placement than USC and UVA. Any of the schools you listed will get you into IB if you work hard enough.
