Help ranking Universities for Exchange semester

Hi all. I have the opportunity of going to the US for the following Fall semester. The options which I am considering are the following. How would you rank them, in terms of IB but also taking into account the fact that I want to explore an interesting city (for example, I know UTexas is such a good uni but I don't know about how is life in Texas)? Thanks in advance!

Pace University (New York)

McGill University (I know it’s in Canada, but it seems to be a target school there. Disadvantage: I don’t know French).

Illinois Urbana-Champaign

University of Texas, Austin

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

American University (Washington)

Bentley University (Waltham)

Emory-Goizueta

Ohio State University

Edit: I have chosen UTexas, Austin

Gtown is the highest target imo BC is best for a college town experience Mich if u can do classes at Ross

Would consider those 3

Thing is I don't think I will be chosen for those 3 (they are the most sought after). How is life in Texas/ UNC Chapel Hill / Illinois Urbana-Champaign? Those are the ones I am realistically ranking

AFAIK, the school you do a semester at has close to 0 impact on recruiting. Pick the school you’ll have the most fun at.

Like said above, going to a school for an exchange semester literally has no impact on recruiting. Go to the most fun American college experience. Since you're going in the fall, I'd pick one that's in a fun quintessential American college town with big time college football that's still great academically so that you'll meet a lot of interesting and cool people: Michigan, Texas, Wisconsin. I would honestly avoid going to a school in a city like Pace, Emory, or American. It's not really the American college experience and you can always visit/live in an American city after college.
