How is incoming GPA from High School to University calculated?
In my Junior year of high school, with a current 3.8 GPA UNweighted and 2 AP Classes. No AP classes for Sophomore year, which was a mistake after I transitioned between schools after my first year to a much more well known chartered school. Around a 3.9 unweighted for my Sophomore year. How will my incoming GPA be calculated? Will my upcoming Senior grades be taken into account when applying? Also, freshman year was a strange year and I ended up receiving one C second semester, but only one B and all As second semester. How will colleges look at semester differences? First, second? Or an average. Any response will be appreciated, thanks. Also, any internships, finance programs, or volunteer programs I can take in high school?

Don’t think many people on this forum know (or quite honestly even care) how undergrad admissions officers calculate GPA for college admissions and it definitely depends on each school so you would get better answers from College Confidential, which is an online forum dedicated to college admissions much like WSO is a forum dedicated to the financial services industry.
Oh ok, thanks for the info.
First of all a 3.8 UW GPA with only 2 AP classes will not get you into any targets in 2023, unless you are URM and have multiple major hooks; in fact a C is an auto disqualifier.
Also the fact that you asked for "finance programs" tells me everything I need to know about your chances. Let me spell it out for you.
To get into high finance, get into a top school first; finance starts after college. To get into a top college, do NOT touch anything finance. My family is well connected in the higher education space -- multiple family friends are on the admissions boards of Penn, Princeton, Columbia, and the like. Blatantly preprofessional activities like "finance programs" (whatever the hell that means) is an auto reject unless your dad is some major MD or fund manager. Focus on academic, art, or social justice related activities.
