Did you seriously just compare Ivey to Oxford and Wharton lmao

At Ivey, the absolute top 5-10% who also run the investment clubs will grind it out for a few banking gigs. At Wharton, some below average kid with no relevant internships will land a BB with basically no effort. Same with Oxford - the names speak for themselves, and lots of banks value that over everything else.

If you’re not absolutely top-tier at Ivey, enjoy your life as an insurance salesman.

This isn't entirely true. At Ivey, roughly 80 kids land IB/PE each year. Out of a class size of 600, placement rates into IB/PE are consistently 10-15% (and used to be even hire before Trump administration). Ivey publishes their placement report every year, so feel free to go look at it for objective comparisons.

Also, it's important to note that not everyone at business schools want to do IB - so saying "only 10-15% of people can land IB" isn't all that relevant as many kids are interested in other fields of business like marketing, sales, consulting, etc (people are interested in things other than IB - crazy!!!)

A Ivey. it's the top 5% of kids that get the LGP, SLP, SPC, GS, Q, EVR, etc jobs - which, in fairness, you need to be in the top 5/10% at Wharton/Oxford to get these jobs too.

Very true, good points. Totally agree that the top kids at Ivey are solid and could certainly hold their own against anyone from the US.

Though I think it’s important to note that TD, BMO or CIBC are seen as good-to-high quality IB placements for Ivey, whereas the equivalent for Wharton would be a top group at BAML or Citi for instance. Sure, you’ll have your killer Ivey kids who land evr, slp, etc., but for the average to above average person pursuing IB/PE, it’s not even a question which one you’d go to purely on metrics of probability and potential for placement.
