I Have a Strong College GPA but a Low High School GPA: Do I Still Have a Chance of Getting into Prestigious Institutions?

The title explains itself but I graduated with a 2.7 GPA but Have a 3.68 GPA in college my extra circulars are 2 leadership positions and interning for a small firm. Do I still have a chance of transferring and pursuing this career?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it's not impossible to overcome a low high school GPA when applying to prestigious institutions, especially if you've shown significant improvement in college. Your strong college GPA of 3.68, leadership positions, and internship experience can all work in your favor.

However, it's important to remember that admissions processes are holistic and will consider many factors beyond just your GPA. Your personal statement, letters of recommendation, and interviews (if applicable) will also play a significant role.

In terms of pursuing a career in finance, your college GPA and experiences will likely be more relevant than your high school GPA. Many successful professionals in the field have overcome various academic and personal challenges. So, keep up the good work, continue to gain relevant experience, and don't let your high school GPA discourage you from pursuing your goals.
