Imperial College vs. HEC vs. Bocconi
Hi there,
I am currently thinking about which MSc programme and which business school I want to choose. I have a Bachelor of Science from a well known german university and I want to study abroad for my MSc degree. Mid-term, I aim to work in PE / Hedge-Fund management preferably in UK or Germany.
Long story short, I have the following options:
1 Imperial College - MSc Finance and Accounting
2 HEC - MIF
3 Bocconi - MSc Finance (not yet admitted)
4 Cass - MSc Finance and Accounting
Which factors would you consider when deciding for a MSc programme and which one of the above-mentioned programmes would you choose? I hope you can help me with the decision and provide some input. Thank you!
Out of the schools that you already got admitted to, HEC would probably be your bet bet. I know a few guys who did the MIF program and they ended up placing extremely well in London. Imperial is also a strong name and you can benefit greatly of simply being in London. Cass isn't that strong, but also great location and they do have alumni in great firms across the city. If you do get into Bocconi, it would be worth considering, given that its a 2-year program and placement in London for internationals is also good.
Thank you for your opinion. Currently, I think that Bocconi and HEC are my best options. London is extremely expensive and the MSc Finance and Accounting at Imperial College is a very young program.. There is no information about placement etc.
Do you think it is a better idea to choose a 2 year program? Why?
A 2 year program will allow you to do an internship in the summer, which is usually the easiest route to a FT offer.
Did you get admitted to Bocconi?
I see; that is an important factor to consider..
Bocconi will publish the results on June 28.
Sit tight and then make a decision once you have the final results.
