Is Cambridge or Oxford more recognized in the world?
Among the entire global population, particularly the third-world/lesser developed world, which university’s brand is more dominant and well-known overall? I ask with an emphasis on middle-income countries in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa, and the non-English speaking world as a whole.
Still, this question applies to the entire world.
So you can stop posting this question here is the worldwide public perception of what uni is most prestigious and well-known:
Europe:
1. Harvard/Oxford
2. Cambridge
MENA:
1. Harvard/Oxford
2. Cambridge
Oceania:
1. Oxford
2. Harvard
3. Cambridge
East Asia:
1. Harvard
2. Cambridge
3. Oxford
North America + Caribbean:
1. Harvard
2. Oxford
3. Cambridge
Latin America:
Sub-Saharan Africa:
1. Harvard/Oxford
2. Cambridge
Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Singapore):
1. Oxford
2. Cambridge
3. Harvard
Indian Subcontinent:
Cambridge doesn’t win a single part of the world?
Only Harvard/Oxford do.

Literally every person who responded to these types of questions on Quora are old (50+), British Oxbridge alumni who still think the British Empire rules the world. Shit is the biggest cope I’ve ever seen and I’m an Oxford alumnus. Half of their argument is that Oxbridge contributed more to the world a few hundred years ago, and none of them can cite contributions from the past 100 years (esp. regarding Cambridge).
Harvard is the world’s leading university brand and it’s not close (Oxford is 2nd). Google Search trends also don’t mean much because there are hundreds of things associated with the words “Oxford” and “Cambridge” that aren’t the universities themselves; the same can’t be said of Harvard. When you actually use the correct search terms, the results heavily favour Harvard:

FYI I do not associate with OP, I share your frustration with him.
Was intrigued by EA and SEA in your list - I’m just not very in tune with these regions - why does Cam ‘rank’ distinctly more strongly there?
Seems it doesn’t fit the simple pattern of Asian obsession with Britain
.
Just from my personal experiences.
