Is Master of Accounting more beneficial for commercial banking vs. an MBA?
Hello, I have a question in regards to business/commercial banking. I received an undergraduate degree in finance without an internship and average GPA. I tried to break into business banking but could not get in and have been working in another industry. Now I've had a couple years of experience, I'm looking to go back to school to try to break in.
But as far as getting in, is a master of accounting degree more beneficial vs. an MBA? I would think since you deal with financial statements, accounting would be more beneficial. But in your opinion, is it more beneficial than an MBA? I know for analysts who do well typically become relationship managers, so I can see where the MBA comes into place. I'm just unsure if getting a Macc or MBA would help me out more in terms of rebranding and getting a career in commercial lending.
All feedback appreciated. Thank you.
