Is your major meaningless at a M7 MBA program?
I have been wondering for a while if it matters much at all if your MBA is in finance when you're at a M7 program. I would think it would probably only matter for the more finance intensive industries like AM, HF, etc. I know some people with entrepreneurship, management, marketing, etc. that had no problem getting in post mba ib and mc. I also think it matters even less if you come from a finance/accounting undergrad and have work experience in either.
MBA major doesn't matter for any career path coming out of business school.

Doesn't really matter, but can help you build a certain brand (e.g. you want to do life sciences work in consulting, so you can point to your healthcare major to help build the argument of why you should be staffed).
Well, from what I've seen from my clients and peers, it doesn't really matter that much. Sure there tends to be a sort of correspondence (people who CHOSE Finance then looking for Finance jobs), but really an MBA degree is an MBA degree and folks from any sort of "concentration" get any sort of job.
It doesn't matter. At best its a way to brand yourself; it really boils down to letting employers know what elective courses you are taking. If you are switching industries its useful to let them know, but less useful than joining the associated clubs and doing whatever experiential offerings your program has
