Johns Hopkins MSF and Brandeis MSF

Hi Guys,

Thank you all for the great input and advice you offer on this site. I would like to get more opinions on the JHU MS in finance as well as the Brandeis MSF and Brandeis MA in International Economics and Finance. My goal is to end up working in New York or Boston, very open to career options so I am trying to get an overall feel. I haven't seen much of the JHU MSF since it is a brand new program but the overall sentiment seems to be getting better with time. Any thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Thank you for the response! Would you mind elaborating more on that?

With programs like this I typically advise focus on location. I think JHU is working to improve their program, but at this point it isn't placing at the level of better programs. It's a fine education, but has room to improve.

So with that said, if Boston is a goal of yours then I would suggest you choose the school in Boston with alumni in Boston. At jhu you will have to work hard to network or intern and at least with Brandeis you can intern and network in your preferred city without much effort.

I am also choosing between those two schools: JHU and Brandeis (both msf program) regarding to the quality of classes, the job placement, which one do you think is better? (btw I am an international student and went to a top 50 university in the States, and comparatively love to network) :)
