LATAM PE A2 Considering MBA – US vs Europe for IB?

Hi all,

I’m currently an A2 at a PE fund in LATAM and considering pursuing an MBA to transition into investment banking internationally.

My initial focus has been on top U.S. programs, but I’m increasingly concerned about the visa situation (H-1B sponsorship and lottery risk) after graduation.

Because of that, I’m also wondering if I should seriously consider European programs (LBS, INSEAD, etc.) as an alternative path.

A few quick questions:

  • Is the U.S. still the best route for internationals targeting IB post-MBA, despite visa uncertainty?
  • Are BB / EB banks still sponsoring H-1Bs consistently from top MBA programs?
  • Would Europe be a safer route from a visa perspective?
  • For someone from LATAM, are visa chances better in Europe, and are banks generally receptive to Latin American candidates?

Would appreciate any insights from people who have gone through this process.

Thanks!
