Looking to hear from military veterans who completed an MBA, and where you are now in your post-military career.

I'm an Officer in the Canadian Army and am thinking of getting out and pursuing an MBA. One big problem: I don't really have a post-MBA clear objective in mind. To that end, I would like to hear from other former military personnel about what you're doing after completing your MBA. I'm curious to hear what are some good post MBA career options for vets.


Some of the things I love about the military are the no-bulshit, team atmosphere. I love being a leader and orienting the team to solve complex problems, managing the personalities and skill sets of my guys and employing them to maximize their effectiveness. I like the attention to detail, the competitiveness, the satisfaction of grinding through a tough course or exercise, the mission above all else atitude. Initially I thought a PM job would appeal but some of the things I hear about the IB culture also sound appealing, in some ways it seems similar to the military. 

Looking to hear what other vets chose to pursue following an MBA or what anyone else who has completed an MBA would recommend for someone who enjoys the above. 


A few profile details to give further context:


Education: Majored in finance at a top Canadian business school. GPA of 3.56

Work Experience: Army Reserves as an infantry officer throughout almost all of undergrad and used it to pay for part of school. Was deployed domestically as a reservist in response to COVID 19 and following that experience decided to switch to the Army full time. Full time military as an infantry officer since then with a non-combat deployment. 

EC: Pretty light on these as I devoted most of my spare time to the reserves in undergrad but since then have been my unit's team captain for an annual endurance competition held at the base and we won gold.
