LSE MFin & Acc. vs. Bocconi MFin vs. St.Gallen MBF {in terms of girls, booze and partying}

Hi community, I have been admitted to LSE Masters in Finance & Accounting, Bocconi MSc Finance and HSG MBF.

I am unsure on what to choose, as I don’t have the big career goal to work in IB in London. I have been employed at one of Scandinavia’s leading IB as an analyst for two years now after my bachelor’s, and I enjoy this environment. The only reason I am taking my master’s is because I don’t want to regret and end up studying for an MBA with a bunch of old weirdos

My question is thus; how is the party life, and student community in the mentioned programmes ? Which school has the best looking girls? Sry for bad grammar, 05 AM here in Norway and I got a pls fix from my associate director.

Happy new years financebros

LSE it is, except you can speak Italian then Bocconi. (i.e. lived in all 3 cities & know people from all 3 universities). St Gallen is good for a career within the German-speaking part however it is a village & with no travel possibilities except for Zurich which is quite expensive. Milano is only fun if you speak Italian, then you will have the time of your life with girls and party there.

Thx for the help btw. It looks like I’ll just ignore LSE, since one quick LinkedIn search gave me an impression of a very diluted degree, if you know what I mean

If you ignore LSE then pls ignore HSG too, since it is a village. LSE is cool because of London & London is more cosmopolitan and has this finance drive, but I got your point. Then it will be duolingo & Bocconi. Go 2 weeks earlier to Italy and do a 2-week crash Italian course or get once a week a Zoom Italian teacher. In Milano people can speak English, it is much more international than in Rome. Also, the Master at Bocconi is quite international. However, if you want to get also in contact with some Milanese girls from Bocconi and outside, speaking a little bit of Italian is important. Also Milano is cool for travelling, Euro Summer etc. & since your goal is anyway not to work at IB in London.. I would go all the way to Milano & go every summer back with the friends you made there.. cheers

London's great all around. Had a friend that did their bachelors in Bocconi, apparently it's tougher to fit in and make the most of night life/partying if you're not at least conversational in Italian and don't want to be stuck with just the international crowd. Can't comment on St. Gallen, but it's literally a village, so I wouldn't expect much.

Also, as an IB analyst looking to apply for a masters program myself, I'm curious as to how these schools viewed your full-time experience. Did you have any issues applying with a 2-year stint under your belt? Seems like most students there are fresh grads.

I want to relocate to London and get a brand-name university on my resume, basically. Things are tough coming from a relative backwater in continental Europe hahaha.
