Macc at UNC/UT Austin/Michigan
I'm an incoming Big 4 consulting intern from an extreme non-target with zero network (only 2 students one being me even got a ib Superday invite) looking to break into t2/MBB/IB. I recently got offered a full ride + stipend to UNC’s and Michigan’s MAcc programs, and at UT I received a half scholarship but it would allow me to be 4 hours away from home.
I was wondering if anyone here had any idea of what the recruiting is like at those programs and the odds of breaking into the places I mentioned? At UT, I do know there's real IB/consulting recruiting for their MAcc (called MPA there) at least for MAcc program standards.
But what about at UNC or Michigan? Do non-accounting firms even bother? Would it be worth spending money at UT given they have better recruiting for these programs? Would it be worth attending any of those schools just for the network given id be paid to go.
