Major v.s. Concentration - Help

I was recently accepted as a transfer student going into my Junior year this fall. The Dean of the school is pushing towards me completing a "Concentration in Finance" instead of the Finance major. Obviously I assume this is less relevant work than the Finance track. I am against it, but he says if I want to do the major I will have to stay for an extra semester/year which financially, I do not really want to do.

Can someone explain the true differences between these? He says it will not matter and companies do not care, but obviously I am sure he is just saying that. Would there be additional benefit in staying the extra time to get the Finance degree, or not? I have to make some decisions very quickly here, and I am lost on this topic as I really want a Finance degree. Let me know if you can help.

id say get major in finance and stay the extra semester/year. try to get some scholarships or something to help pay for it.
