MS careers vs MBA careers
I'm Italian and here (I think in the all Europe as well) many take a Bachelor and right after a Master of Science degree, as opposed to the US where many students get their Bachelor degree, then they work and if they want they take an MBA.
My questions are (pls send me the link if you already talked about it, i didn't find anything):
1. How is my Italian/European MS considered in the US?
2. Is it "more similar" to a Bachelor or to an MBA (i know it's different, but you know what i mean)?
3. Moreover, I read that MBB employees are able to go in a further level through an MBA, could it be possible with a MS as well?
The European MS is basically like extending undergrad studies for a few years. You come in to a firm at the exact same level someone with just an undergrad would - except you're probably much more technically proficient and mature.
Completely different to an MBA.
The European MS is seen just like at US MS degree. Essentially a deep dive into a subject. It's true that more people do a masters degree in Continental Europe vs US/UK, but that doesn't change the level at which you would enter a job.
The MBA is different because it is seen as a mid career masters, where you also typically need prior work experience, hence why MBBs would take you in at a higher level.
