Hello everyone, Has anyone completed EDHEC's MSc Corproate Finance programme and has made it to London IBD (M&A) positions? I have received an offer with a scholarship from EDHEC and IE but I have to decide between CASS, EDHEC and IE.
My profile: 1. EU passport holder, but Eastern European descent 2. 3.9/4 GPA for my Bachelors Degree in Turkey (studied for free based on the grant) 3. Also, obtained several merit-based scholarships during my bachelor degree period. 3. Have 3 years of experience as a strategy and investment analyst and CFA Level I.
My goals: IBD M&A in London
I know that being in the city provides some advantage but its tuition fee is huge. EDHEc is also a good choice but I did not meet many people who landed in London after EDHEC. Finally, IE seems to best among these three not only in terms of employment but also the brand name.
Any suggestions, opinions are helpful!
Pretty biased but would say that for London is Cass > EDHEC > IE
Well, thank you for your opinion. CASS seems to have location advantage. But do you think that having an IE name on my CV is better in the long run?
Don't think so. Cass and IE reputation is pretty much the same... Things would have been different if you're targeting Consulting
Was in a bar in Pairs last april with a 1st-year EDHEC MiM EU student (2.5 years program).
She was just back from Goldman Sach's Spring Insight's program. She also completed an additional Spring Week at another London-based Tier 1 BB.
That makes 2 spring weeks at 2 Tier 1 BB. She didn't encounter any Cass UG. Didn't ask about IE at the time.
I think EDHEC M.Sc. Could get you through the door. Cass, on M.Sc.-level (not UG), not so much; even not quite, possibly not at all.
IE good too I'd say. Cons would be studying in France or Spain, countries you may not be familiar with.
About Cass this is simply not true. Let me explain: Cass at undergrad is under City, University of London. At UG is not as target as other unis could be. Likewise, this is not true for postgrad where CASS is a very good semi-target. Thus, if you're targeting London is above EDHEC and IE. A spring week doesn't mean nothing, SA and FT offers matter. I did a semester abroad in a tier1 Grande ècole and according to the majority of french folks EDHEC is below HEC, ESSEC and ESCP whilst EDHEC is better than other good ones like EmLyon or Grenoble/Audencia and so on.

Cass sucks, and EDHEC is too focused on France. IE is by far the best choice.
I didn't do research on EDHEC or IE but from my LinkedIn research Cass has a lot of representation in London IBD (including BBs) from both UG and MSc. Most people say Cass has a non-target UG but I did see quite a bit of honor (not sure if it is a distinction like Cum Laude or an honors program) students in IBD. Just remember you will be competing with people who know French and Spanish from the other two schools. Also remember you will be competing with continental programs like HEC, Bocconi, and other higher ranked ones.
