MSF or MBA (and gaining some MM IB Experience)?
Hey Guys,
In a few weeks I will start my internship at an american MM IB in Europe (think Harris Williams, Baird, Raymond James, Blair) which I will hopefully convert. However, after speaking to some people online, it seems almost impossible to transfer from a european office to an american office (which is my dream). Therefore I'm heavily considering a MSF (or MBA) in the US. Now I have multiple questions.
1st: Should I apply for a MSF, starting directly after my undergraduate studies (and decline a potential MM IB offer)? Or should I gain some experience after graduation (e.g. completing my analyst stint) and do an MBA afterwards?
2nd: At what kind of schools do I have a realistic chance of getting into? - GPA Equivalent: 3.5-4.0 - MM IB Internship (or potentially Analyst) - GMAT: I assume ~700 is realistic - Semi Target for London / (Regional) Target School for my country (think RSM/Copenhagen)
3rd: How difficult will it be to break into the IB/PE Industry in America (coming from Europe) with an american MSF/MBA?
