My profile for European Finance Msc. Programs

Hey all, have been lurking these forums for a while and hope you guys could give your opinions on my competitiveness for applying to Finance Msc. programs in Europe. First of all, my profile

- Currently finishing up my International Business Administration bachelor program at RSM. I expect to graduate with a 8.5 out of 10.0 (around 3.7-3.8 US equivalent).
- Finished an extra-curricular minor in a finance-related topic
- Finished a small (~4week) internship at a private equity firm in London last summer.
- Studied a semester abroad at a semi-target US college (3.9GPA)
- Am an active member of our university's investment organization for multiple years where I gained leadership experience from being a chairman of group of students.
- Did charity work for over a year now
- Worked several years as a teaching assistant for various finance courses held at RSM (included presenting to a group of ~300/400 students)

Will be working as an intern at a boutique IB in Amsterdam starting September for 4 months and a possible second internship (abroad) after that. Aiming to secure a position at a BB.
Planning to study and do the GMAT this summer (aiming for 700+)

I personally think my profile is quite strong and am therefore aiming on getting in at the top programmes available in Europe. Schools such as HEC, SSE, Bocconi, LSE, Warwick, Imperial, Oxford, Cambridge and maybe a US programme are of course the obvious choices, but how likely will I be able to get in with my profile? As an RSM undergraduate, I can freely enter the RSM master so I have a back-up. But I would really like to do my masters abroad.

My final goal is to obtain a full-time job in London.

If anyone has any other tips, they are of course appreciated :).

Thank you

Entirely dependent on the GMAT. Score a high GMAT and you will be fine.

Exactly that. Aim for well above 700 and you will get into 90% of the programs you apply to.

I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player. Or nothing. See my Blog & AMA

If you get a good GMAT of 700+, all doors at the top schools will be open. Obviously something can always go wrong in your application but with those stats I'd expect very high acceptance rate at all the European schools you mentioned. All of these as well as RSM will allow you to recruit for BB positions. For BB recruiting FT recruiting it would probably be good to get a summer internship at one of those BBs, so maybe consider that in your choice of program.

Good academics, but weak work experience. Were you not able to gain a competitive summer internship at an investment bank?

LSE and Oxbridge will be a stretch unless you get a super high GMAT. Remember the average GMAT at LSE and Oxford is 720-730 and the vast majority of students on their MSc Finance/MFE programmes will have done a couple of competitive summer internships at proper companies (not private equity internships which you got through your dad or aunt).
