I think after 8-12 YOE I can’t complain but all got delayed by 4 years and I do not have the job.

I wanted (despite being more than ok role) I am in PM in alternative credit, got promoted relatively faster than some peers twice and fighting for one this year, so not terrible. But I still consider my self 4 years behind where I could be if I went to target school.

As of now my degree doesn’t matter at all in my current role/company but might still be an issue if I want to change (brand name still helps go through HR / screenings).

About to pursue an EMBA to get some network and add a name on the cv, with the goal of starting something mine or continue to grow internally, but the second option is super political.

Delayed a year, transferred schools, and went from no interviews to multiple offers at top firms.

There’s no point in going to a non-target if you can afford to go elsewhere.

Started in IB coverage at a mid tier BB in London 13 years ago. Spent three years and then joined a Series C start up in a leadership role. Afterwards, I did some LMM PE right after bschool (i was an international student at a M7 MBA) for an year, returned back to banking for 6 months, and now doing Corp dev for an US$3bn market cap IPP focused on renewables. Hoping to move to infra investing
