Nottingham (semi-target) or gap year

Hi,

I'm international student and would like to break into IB FO. I hold a master place at Nottingham Uni, which is semi-target for investment banking or can take a gap year and reapply to target uni in the next year (for example i can get some experience).

Is it worth to "stop myself" for 1 year in order to apply for target? Is is significant difference between semi-target and target?

Thanks in advance.

I have a place for this year 2019/2020 and I can withdraw and take my first installment until 30 October,

In the case of gap year I'd like to start internship in IB in the Eastern Europe.

If you can do the internship and you also have the academic requirements to go to a target, I would say to do that.

1 year IB internship + master at a target is a lot better than a master at a (soft) semi-target.

This is how I would rank your options: 1) Internship in IB then Target Master 2) Internship in IB then Semi-target Master 3) Semi-target Master

Ok, thank you BUT tbh I decided in the last year to take 1 gap year in order to secure position in target. During this time I have internship in IB. Unfortunately, I did not meet requirements at targets and got place only at Nottingham and Cass, which are just semi-target. Now, I think over taking another gap year to, again, try to get into target (better GMAT, additional internships ...).

What do you think?
