Older worker, HBS wants me to apply

Hi as my username implies I am mid-career. I recently received two emails from HBS encouraging me to apply for the incoming 2021 full time MBA class. I took the GMAT about 8 years ago so maybe that's how I got on some list. Is HBS just email-blasting everyone? I would be over 40 years old in 2023 when I would graduate, so totally atypical as an MBA grad.

I was passingly interested in MBA programs a while ago, which is why I took the GMAT, but never pulled the trigger because my career progressed fine without an MBA. Now I'm at the age where an EMBA might make sense but that's not what HBS contacted me about, and in fact HBS doesn't offer an EMBA.

I'm mostly curious if these emails imply anything about my particular situation. Are others in a similar place in their career receiving them? I would think business schools would stop contacting you after you reach a certain age, and in fact I received no correspondence for years until recently.

As I said this is mostly a curiosity as the ROI for me would almost certainly be negative, and I wouldn't choose to apply. But since there have been so many layoffs I don't know why HBS would contact me when there are many younger people who make more sense as a candidate.

They're just email blasting everyone. I just got an email from Stanford GSB encouraging me to apply despite the fact my GMAT has long expired and I already have an MBA from another school.

Also: This may be a little cynical but they would love to have as many applicants as possible. $250 a pop in fees plus it makes their acceptance rate look better. Not that isn't already hard enough to get in.
