Prep GRE Math Before MGMAT?

Hi all,

I bought MGMAT’s individual study package. A tutor said she likes to have her students go through Manhattan’s GRE six books on math first, and then move to the GMAT prep after. She only does this for candidates who are not strong in math. I fall into that category, but it’s just because I haven’t taken a math since undergrad.

What are people’s thoughts on this approach? I’m thinking about buying the six book package off of Manhattan’s GRE store for $100.

Also, any other books I should know about to crack 700?

"Frank Slaughtery" gmatquantum.com was the best quant resource I found

Thanks Frank, I'll check it out now.

I found their online course to be great and affordable but even if you decide not to take it, the free video answers to the OG problems are extremely helpful.

I'd recommend Math Revolution. Ended with a 49 Quant Score, probably began in high 30s/low 40s.

Here's a list of reviews from GMAT Club: https://gmatclub.com/reviews/math-revolution-345345660

The program builds on GMAT math fundamentals with an extreme focus on strategy. There's a 51 (the max score) or bust mentality and the program emphasizes the strategy and level of knowledge needed between different tiers of scores (46-48 vs. 49-51). I found this really changed how I thought about the Quant section. Other programs (including MGMAT) simply broke out the different topics/question types vs. a strategic approach which will take you farther.

A lot of people I've chatted with have mentioned MGMAT CATs are harder than the actual tests, which can be a good thing (better to overprepare right?) But keep that in mind if you're scoring a little low on the mocks.

Thanks Johnny, that is actually especially important to me given that I’m going to be over preparing as it is. I have too many issues to where not cracking 700 means I’m out of T20 conversations (even part-time).
