Bocconi Vs SSE Vs HSG for VC
Hi, i'm currently an italian non-target undergrad. I'm looking forward to attend a Msc in Finance and I will apply to (in order of preference) SSE, HSG, Bocconi. What chances do I have with the following profile?
Curriculars
- GPA 27/30
- GMAT 700
- IELTS 8
- Exchange semester in Sweden (non-target)
- LSE summer program in Advanced Corporate Finance
Work Ex:
- 2 months curricular internship at M&A local shop
- 6 months extracurricular internship at big(ger) M&A local shop
Extracurriculars
- Director of student's finance club at my uni
- Mentoring program focused on finance
- Volunteering
I would love the "internation experience" of either SSE or HSG but i'm quite afraid about the language barrier in both cases. How crucial are respectively swedish and german?
Furthermore I'm currently not sure if I want to purse the "common" IB - PE path or the more non linear Start-up/VC. I think i'm more inclined towards the second choice due to my personal strenghts, but i'm concerned with the comp. What's the best master and place choice if I would go for VC?
Thanks to everybody for the help!

All great schools. The problem is not really the school name, but rather the ecosystem in itself. For example, in Italy the VC ecosystem is almost non-existent. As long as you are in the major EU/UK VC hubs you should be all good.
Do you think not speaking the local language might be a deal breaker?
No, it won't. I would do my best to adapt and learn it but e..g at HSG, they speak swiss German which is quite difficult to speak/understand, even for native speakers like me. Lots of foreign speakers and everyone speaks english
How would you compare the VC career with IBD/PE in Europe for a non-local language speaker? Much appreciated!
