Profile Evaluation for CEMS MIM

Hey everyone,

I'm in my final year of undergrad, studying Management Information Systems at a regional target school in Scandinavia, and I'm now exploring master's programs. I have a lot of decisions to make in the coming months, and would greatly appreciate some feedback on my profile and the likelihood of getting into a few CEMS programs.

Profile:

  • GPA: Equivalent to a B (ECTS)/ A- (US)/ UK (2:1), from a Scandinavian business school (e.g., SSE, CBS, NHH).
  • No GMAT yet, but I estimate I could score around 680 with some preparation.
  • 1-year of experience as a student worker in sales forecasting at a large tech MNC, including a paternity cover position in demand management.
  • Currently completing an exchange semester at HEC Paris, focusing on graduate-level courses in strategy, operations, and marketing.
  • Participated in case competitions (with one major international win), and have a lot of extracurriculars in innovation/ entrepreneurship with one leadership position.

Programs I'll apply for (CEMS-focused):

  • St. Gallen SIM
  • RSM MIM
  • SSE MIB
  • Nova MIM
  • CBS Innovation & Business Development + CEMS
  • WU MIM

I have two decisions I need to make:

1. Whether to take a gap year to gain more experience and boost my test score for better odds for harder CEMS programs such as St Gallen or RSM.

2. Whether it is worth investing in a more expensive MIM program (e.g., HEC, Bocconi, ESADE), which I have previously disregarded due to the cost. My long-term goal is to move to London after a few years in Scandinavia or the Netherlands.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice!

I would take the gap year to focus on your GMAT (especially if you have a 2.1 GPA). Your master is your entry card to your work life now and the rest of your life. Pick one where you see yourself living (to have the best brand equity for HR/managers) so if you want CEMS either RSM, LSE or SSE ;)

it’s not a 2.1 gpa he has a 2:1 which is an upper second class, more like a 3.5
