RE; First year university student seeking advice (UK)
Hi everyone, this is my first post. I'm a first-year university at a mid-tier university in the UK, studying Banking and Finance. My ultimate goal is to work in portfolio management within a hedge fund, and I'm looking for advice on what academic pursuits I can focus on in my first year to increase my chances of securing an internship or gaining relevant experience.
I've already taken the following steps:
* Completed all Bloomberg certificates (ESG, Market Concepts, and Finance Fundamentals)
* Currently taking the CISI Capital Markets Certificate (Level 3)
* Member of our economics society.
Are there any other academic or extracurricular activities that I can engage in to benefit my future career, particularly ones to do with hedge funds/something that can get me into that sector.
