Major firms go to Cornell despite its remote location, so NYC isn't that big of a factor. Firms go to Cornell so Cornell students don't need to make the trip to NYC to go to them.

I've spoken to representative from both schools about OCR (had to make the same decision) and while they both place well, their placement numbers are not too far apart.

With this in mind, you should just go with whichever you like the most. Want to live on a true campus? Then go to Cornell. Want to spend four years in NYC? Then go to NYU.

"I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse."

Cornell has the same opps (probably more, actually) with much, much less competition. And you get an actual campus, and a decent party scene, and the financial aid is better, and the grading is easier, and the alumni network is better, and recruiting for every single internship isn't a knife-fight...

Look, the plus-side of Stern is that it's in New York and you have great access to internships. But that turns into a downside really, really fast, because now it's EXPECTED that you'll do them and network like a nutcase. If that's your thing, then more power to you. But for most people, that's stress hell.

Although I'd personally go to Cornell, for Finance I'd give the edge to Stern
