Rotman MBA or Schulich MBA?

I need your opinions my friends! I got admitted by both Rotman and Schulich part time MBA, but I am in a delimma to choose which MBA I will go.

Rotman has a very good reputation in banking industry, but its intensive program (have to finish the program in 28 months without any break during the study) and high tuition (91K for the full program) bother me a lot, because I really want to have a life while studying since I am married and have a baby. In addition, Rotman is heavily focused on finance and ib, but my specialty is in quantitative risk management.

On the other hand, Schulich has a innovative program with many good concentrations, and also the study time is pretty flexible, the tuition is not a too much burden (63K). However, Shulich's parent university really doesn't have a decent reputation in Toronto and Canada and In addition, the safety in York U area is also a concern.
Also, it was widely said that the quality of Schuich graduates has large dispersion and varies a lot. This significantly dilutes the reputation of the Shulich's in the industry.

Can anyone help me out here and give me some valuabe thoughts between the two programs? Thanks a lot!

My goal is to just strengthen my softskills, build up network and grow to higher management in retail risk management. I am not into IB, nor Capital Markets. Thanks.

You pretty much nailed it. Rotman is the better option re: the opportunities it'll get you. However, it definitely is more time consuming and more expensive as compared to Schullich. That being said, Schullich is by no means a bad school. In fact, The Economist had Schullich as the only Canadian school in the top 20 in North America for MBA - that's not focused on finance recruitment, but I'm sure you get the picture.

Thanks ytinifni.

Rotman under UofT's umbrella seems more competitive, but Schulich's program is more flexible. From Industry wide in Canada (specially in Toronto), for higher management such as senior manager, director and above, whether Rotman is superior to Schulich, when the candiates have the same background?

In my opinion, at the higher levels, it's more about ability and results than anything else. If you can produce, you move up. I don't think an MBA from either one of these schools will be more helpful than the other when you're being considered for a promotion 5 years down the road. Then again, I'm not an industry veteran so take what I say with a grain of salt. Anyone with more experience feel free to chime in.

Thanks ytinifni.
