Anyone have any experience with this program directly or indirectly? Seems to be the only legit MFin in the country but see a really big distribution of outcomes amongst alumni.
Particularly curious how the program stands on Bay Street - both sell-side and buy-side - and across the pension funds.
Rotman MFE and MFIN are both pretty good programs that leverage faculty connections to Bay Street. I know 2 people that couldn’t break into IB post-undergrad that decided to jump straight into the MFE program and that helped land them positions at a big 5. More familiar with the success of the MFE then MFIN, and have seen many land great mid-year internships at places like OTPP and IB in big 5, but assume both are equally good.
I'm aware of the rigor of the MFE program. I also know the MFin is very quantitative and legit compared to other MFins on the street - just wanted to get more insight on what its like on the street.

I see the class size is only 30 people for the MFE. Do you know how competitive it is to get in?
They take 30 from 300-600 applications depending on the year.

Know a guy with 0 work experience (literally doing concrete), got IB SA and FT out of the MFE. Seems to be a well setup program.
How'd he get admission then? Or you mean he started a concrete business or something?
Good grades in honours economics. Past that, no idea how.
Very solid
Care to expand a little :)
OTPP's Capital Markets division has a ton of alumni from the MFE program there
What about MFin? Just looked at the leadership and they seem very quanty.
