Seeking advice: Bocconi vs IE for Master in Finance (Path to IB)

Hello WSO Community,

I'm at a crossroads and could greatly benefit from your insights. I've recently graduated from a top European business school and am currently working in the audit division of a Big 4 firm. My ultimate goal is to break into investment banking, and I believe a master's in finance is the next step.

I'm considering two programs: IE's Master in Finance and Bocconi's Masters in Corporate Finance. I'm looking for guidance on which would be the better option, considering the following criteria:

  • Future Opportunities: Which program has a stronger track record for placements in top investment banking roles?

  • Reputation: How are these programs viewed within the industry, especially in Europe?

  • Knowledge Acquisition: Which program offers a more rigorous and comprehensive curriculum that's relevant to investment banking?

  • Networking: Considering alumni networks and industry connections, which program offers better networking opportunities?

  • Experiences: Which program provides more practical, hands-on experiences like internships or live projects?

  • Overall Satisfaction: For those who attended these programs, how satisfied were you with the overall experience?

Any insights, especially from alumni or industry professionals who have observed the performance of graduates from these programs, would be immensely helpful.

Thank you in advance for your help!
