Should I Bother Applying for HBS/Stanford GSB 2+2?
Hey guys, I'm a long time lurker that would appreciate some individualized advice.
I have a 3.8 GPA from a solid US college (think UNC/Emory/Georgetown), summered at a top EB in M&A (think Lazard/Evercore/Centerview/PJT) in their NY office and am going to one of these places full-time. I have held numerous leadership positions, including being the president of one of the largest organizations on campus and executive positions on numerous others. Nothing entrepreneurial though.
However, my major is economics and all my extracurriculars are business-related (no philanthropy/sports/arts). I'm a white male international student (from Europe). Scored 750 on the GMAT.
I've been doing some research, and know that most of the 2+2 class is STEM. However, 20% is business/economics. I'm just wondering if my background is good enough to potentially be in that 20%? Would I be wasting my time if I applied, or would I have a chance?
It's always worth applying, but it sounds like you're already aware that 2+2 programs are generally not geared towards the prototypical MBA applicants.
Yes I know this, but they do take some prototypical MBA applicants, just in smaller quantities.
