Should I transfer out? ( Fordham )

Hi!
I'm currently a freshman at Fordham University. Coming here was a difficult choice, but I chose to attend because I received a full academic scholarship, and my family lives in New York. I had been accepted to UMich, but they offered no financial aid. Anyway, after researching both recruiting from Fordham and other schools' prices, I've been heavily contemplating transferring after I finish this year. Could anyone attest to whether or not getting internships/jobs from Fordham is a nightmare or recommend some good schools (possibly with a reasonable acceptance rate)? I've been looking at Columbia and Cornell already, but I'm unsure what schools within them to apply to/ what majors to take. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Thank you, that's very reassuring. However, I failed to specify this in the original post: The net cost I got for Columbia post-aid, for example, is pretty much what I pay just for room and board here. So, the free education isn't as cheap as I thought when I enrolled. I guess UMich was just bad for aid. In light of the price being almost the same, should I try to opt for a transfer? Either way, thank you for letting me know its possible here if I can't pull off a transfer.

Many top private schools, including Ivy League, offer great financial aid. Why not shoot your shot and see where you will end up? You have nothing to lose if all the schools reject you.

Going to go against the grain here; transfer. I have seen firsthand the effects of elite education, and attending an Ivy, or even Michigan will massively boost your prospects. Fordham’s basically a Catholic SUNY, and while you may be able to break into IB with some elbow grease, you will have less control over what firm you place at, and PE recruitment/MBA applications will be that much harder. Also consider what type of student you’d rather be surrounded by, because that has a massive difference on your development. No offense, but the concentration of intelligence is far higher at an Ivy+/T25 School than Fordham. Coming from someone who left a similar school for a more “prestigious,” one and had a great outcome recruiting and a fantastic personal experience.
