St Andrews, CASS & Warwick - for Tier 2 M&A London
Hey everyone :)
I just graduated from a local (no-name) uni in Austria with a degree in Finance & Accounting. My profile so far:
- 2 Exchange Semesters (UK, Canada)
- 2 Internships Ernst & Young Transaction Advisory
- Internship in M&A / Investment Banking Tier 2 Bank
The reason why I would like to go for a MSc in the UK is that I definetly would like to go abroad once more and second my long-term goal is to work in M&A (Tier 2). I know that with my current background BB won't be possible so I thinks thats out of discussion.
I received a couple of offers and can't really decide and would appreciate if you could help me a little bit with your experience and thoughts:
Warwick Business School (Financial Management) + WBS Brand - Courses are not very helpful for M&A with several management modules, so I am not sure if the brand alone compensates for that
Cass Business School (corporate finance) +Course and the corporate finance focus are exactly what I wanted to study and specialise on - Fees are crazy and the overall reputation in all the forums seems to not favor this school
Thinking about applying:
St Andrews (Finance) + Solid university and yes I know definitely not Tier 1 but what do you think about placement for mid-market M&A and Tier 2 banks + Way cheaper than Warwick and Cass

Cass is fine, but should be the first one you eliminate.
Warwick is a target for undergraduates, and some postgraduate programmes. I know people from the continent who did post-grad at Warwick and ended up in MM shops and 2nd / 3rd tier management consulting firms.
St. Andrews is a bit of a wild card, it does place into some firms, and their alumni tend to be a bit more closely knit then many UK universities. It also places into somewhat similar places as Warwick, but not quite at the same rate.
