Top Schools With/Without Emphasis on Clubs for Recruiting

I wanted to take a spin on the target school list that has already been made several times and add how necessary club placement is to get into IB from these top schools. For example, I know UCLA/NYU are very club dependent while at other schools, clubs don't play any role in IB recruiting. It would be great if you guys could comment schools in either of these two categories and I can compile a list here based on your answers.

Generally semi or lower targets that tend to be larger schools are more club focused because it’s another screen besides admissions to the school. Generally higher targets it doesn’t matter because just getting into the school is seen as enough. Not a hard and fast rule tho.

For example, UCLA/NYU/UVA/USC/Berkeley/UMich are all pretty club focused from what I’ve heard. Whereas Dartmouth or Columbia or Stanford or Harvard, it’s not necessary at all. Then the non targets like Penn state or Indiana (not gonna argue ab this) are entirely club focused with the Nittany Lion Fund and the IBW.
