Tuck or Stern

Hi everyone

I am hoping to get into one of these two business schools next year. I want to work for a top-tier BB post-MBA. So any thoughts which school is better for me?
I hear that Tuck maybe has the best alumni network (correct me if I am wrong), but Stern is clearly at a better location. So I am really torn between these two.
Almost forget to mention it, I am a female applicant from China and I intend to get a job on wall street for a few years before heading back.

Thanks a lot.

I'm from NYC. And have been to a Tuck event here in the city and three Columbia events (one which gave me good insight about NYU). Here's my perspective.

Tuck has a great culture and the alumni go to bat (help) for each other. There is an 'honors code' where if you are at Tuck and you call/email someone at the school they will get back to you in 24 hours. For example, Tuck will give you a list or help you see the managers/directors/partners at .... let's say JP Morgan .... then if you contact them .... they will speak to you and help you get a job! If you want to work for a BB in any country in the world, if there is a Tuck alumni they will help you. Personally because of this tight nit culture, I would choose Tuck over NYU and Columbia. But that's just me.

NYU is a New York City school. And the New York City experience is great, just expensive and after a while you realize it's not all it's cracked up to be. Being close and in the city has it's advantages as every BB is here and they will meet with you (as they recruit heavily). Note that it's competitive, but they place well. Back to my Columbia remark, people who I spoke to see NYU as an equal. There is not much difference between Columbia and NYU as both are great schools. I only bring Columbia up because it is a competitor school for placements. Both NYU and Columbia have loyal alumni who will help you, just perhaps to a lesser degree than Tuck. You will still get a job with a degree form either school.

You can not go wrong with either choice. Good luck with your applications, and if you can visit the schools. Especially Tuck. They want to see that you've been at the school (and not just an event). yet at the same time they understand you live half a world away so it's not a big deal. But it would help to stand out!

Let us know how you fared. And thank you for your question, I hope more chime in.

Might want to wait until you're in. Plus, we know nothing about you. While both would get you plenty of IBD shots (which is better for that is debatable and probably not a big deal either way), they are entirely different places. Not to say that you can't like both, but there's so many differences here that I can't imagine you don't have a preference for one over the other.

Tuck. As other posters already mentioned, NYC kinda...well...sucks sometimes. Also, I think bschool at an Ivy would be marginally better for your resume overall.
