Undergrad: Dartmouth vs UT McCombs for NYC IB

High school senior here. Got into UT McCombs (still waiting on BHP) and was wondering whether Dartmouth Econ is worth $100k in loans compared to no loans at UT. I'm looking to work in NYC IB/Hedge Funds after college and an MBA after.

Dartmouth has a fantastic, closely-knit alumni network, greater prestige, and a stronger presence on Wall Street. Also the D-plan gives you a leg up during internships because you're competing for less spots during the Winter. If you're comfortable with the student loans, then I would definitely choose Dartmouth. That being said, Mccombs is nothing to scoff at for NYC recruiting, especially the BHP program. A cursory LinkedIn search shows that a number of McCombs students have placed into BBs / EBs in their NYC offices over the past couple of years.

You can't really go wrong here. I'd honestly visit both and figure out which one fits best. UT Austin is a great school if you can get into BHP that would put it over the edge.

If you're just doing McCombs, I'd worry that you would get out recruited by the BHP kids similar to UPenn vs Wharton.

Dartmouth is a great school, Ivy league, tight knit community, but some people don't like the feel. It's preppy and rural which some might hate.

It also kind of depends on where you want to end up. Dartmouth will have a stronger presence in NYC than UT. UT will be way better in Texas and will place decently around the rest of the US, but I think the name will be slightly weaker among the "elite" circles.

Outcomes from both school will be similar, but I think Dartmouth will be slightly stronger. If you feel like Dartmouth is a better fit then 100k isn't terrible. If you get into BHP, I'd take the money and to go UT for free. Either way, go where you feel more comfortable.
