Undergrad: RPI v. U Rochester vs. Rutgers

Hi All,

This is my first post on WSO!

I have been admitted to the following schools: RPI, University of Rochester, and Rutgers. Which one should I go to if I'm in between finance, CS, and medicine? I plan on double majoring in math and CS and possibly minor in Econ (I heard I don't need any business background for wall street). If I were to go into business, I would either want to take the IB -> PE track, go into consulting and try to become a fortune 500 exec after getting an MBA, or become a quant.

I also plan on transferring to an ivy league/elite school. This year I was waitlisted at the University of Chicago and the Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science. I am going to apply as a transfer to the ivies, MIT, Stanford, U of C, CMU, Duke, Caltech, and JHU. I have a perfect SAT (2400) and ACT (36) score and perfect SAT subject test scores (800) in math (level 2), physics, and chemistry. I believe I didn't write my application essays in the best way, so I'm going to try again with professional help. I'm also currently preparing for the putnam mathematics exam, if thats relevant to the subject.

Predicted coursework:
1st semester: Functions of Complex Variables, Intermediate Macro Econ, Data Structures, Required writing class
2nd semester: Intermediate Micro Econ, Artificial Intelligence, Biology 1, Honors Real Analysis

Which of those three schools should I attend in order to maximize transfer odds, and maximize my prospects in finance, CS, and medicine if things dont work out? Also, any advice on what to do in order to help with transfer odds?

Speaking as a third year math major, taking functions of complex variables and real analysis your freshman year sounds like a good way to kill your college GPA. Then again I go to a target, it might not be too difficult at a non-target. Either way I would really consider slowing down there a bit with the coursework and giving yourself a chance to adjust to college -- unless you went to an elite prep school, in which case I don't know why you wouldn't have gotten into an elite university. Some better choices would be multivariate calc, linear algebra, differential equations, number theory, etc..
