[Undergrad Transfer] Non-target to Target Schools

So I am a freshman at a non-target BC-CSOM who is extremely competitive (top >2%) of my class with competitive ACTs, Extra-Curriculars, Awards and recommendations. I have a strong interest in studying IR, PolSci, and econ but hope to land a job in I-banking M&A, but obviously my interests will become more solidified over time. I have the following list of programs available:

Shits n Giggles:
Harvard College- Government
Yale College- Ethics, Politics, Economics

Numbers Game:
UPenn- International Relations or Econ or PPE(Bitch Wharton?)
Columbia- Economics and PolSci
Brown- Economics and International Relations
Dartmouth- Economics and International Relations

Likely:
Georgetown- MSB or SFS...not sure

So basically I was hoping for some more suggestions on schools. I feel like Georgetown is an upgrade but still not target.

Really looking for some direction within UPenn A&S. I was considering Wharton but I feel like the admissions committee will just look poorly on my reasons for Transferring considering I am just trying to "upgrade"

I think it also depends on your particular reason for attending a non-target straight out of high school (financial reasons, grades, etc.). If your high school grades weren't great, then you will most likely have a difficult time getting into quite a few of those schools unless you transfer after you have an established track record of success at your currents school. It also depends on when you're thinking about transferring (now or as a junior?).

Based on the schools you've selected, I'm surprised you didn't include a school like NYU since you would probably have a great shot.

Also, don't worry too much about what you major in (poli sci and IR are fine - I was poli sci myself). It's more important to make sure that you are truly interested in the subject so you can continue to succeed academically.

Since most of the schools I am applying to are undergrad colleges (except Georgetown) and I am currently in Carroll Management School at BC, I framed my entire application about the need for a more liberal arts based education. My counselor from High School recommended several of those schools as well as Northwestern and Chicago (which she described as mid-range) That being said, I didn't include NYU because I really see it as a lateral move, although many would argue otherwise. I want a campus and a college "identity", things I believe I can't really get at NYU

Also...is UPenn A&S even worth it? How terrible will recruiting be for an Econ and IR major if I am competing against Wharton kids?

In all honesty, I would also sort of view Georgetown as a lateral move as well. The fact that you are at BC, have been succeeding thus far, and have strong ECs and ACT score lead me to believe that you a decent shot at getting into quite a few of the schools on your list. It is significantly easier to get into a lot of those schools as a transfer than out of high school.

With regard to Chicago and Northwestern, you can't go wrong with either school and both place students at top firms. If you get into UPenn A&S, but not any of the other "numbers" or "shits n giggles" schools, then go to UPenn (since it is a significant improvement), but if you get into it any of the other schools, then I would strongly encourage you to consider going there over UPenn for precisely that reason. You would be behind the 8-ball to a certain extent unless you establish killer connections through networking or if you just blow the recruiters out of the water with your intangibles. Then again, take my advice with a grain of salt since I am not in IB - I'm in management consulting.
