USC, UVA, or Emory?
Hello everyone, I have to commit to USC, UVA, or Emory by May 1st and I’m still undecided. I would like to go into investment banking, consulting, private equity, or other top finance careers. At USC, I will be in the Marshall School of Business. At UVA, I will be majoring in Econ in the College of Arts and Sciences and then I will apply to be accepted into McIntire during my sophomore year (50-60% acceptance rate so shouldn’t be too bad hopefully). At Emory, I will be getting my BBA from the Goizueta Business School and I’m also thinking of majoring in Econ as a double major. Which school would position me best to break into IB/consulting/PE/VC/etc? What are their pros and cons as well? Any advice is appreciated. Once again, thank you.
Please disregard tuition
All three are great programs! You should specify what your goals are if you want a career oriented suggestion. If you want to work in VC/Tech IB, USC might be the best and WBB is no slouch. NYC Ib UVA places the best of all three. Emory is probably the most traditionally prestigious and has a solid liberal arts core, great if you want more southern culture with a mix of intellectualism/the “ivy” feel, however it’s more of a semitarget than UVA.
Thanks for your response! I’m not really set on investment banking or consulting but I most likely will go into finance and would like a stable career
