Value of Wharton MBA?

For background, I am from one of the better big 10 schools, 2 years top BB group (e.g. GS TMT), 1.5 years UMM / MF PE, 1.5 years boutique advisory shop (joined as was meant to become a merchant bank, but has remained an advisory shop to date). I have a 3.8 GPA and 760 GMAT, on the junior board of an org where I have led multiple initiatives, fair bit of EC, etc.

I applied to H/S as I would like to pivot back to investing (PE specifically) since the firm I joined did not become a merchant bank. I am considering applying to W in round 2.

1) Is the cost of a W MBA worth it? I think of this question both in the context of (a) what I would do otherwise - If I do not get in, I would otherwise seek to join an industry-specific PE fund without going through an MBA, which could get me to the same spot but without the significant cost. Furthermore, (b) I already earn very good comp compared to even my friends at UMM PE, so I struggle to understand the incremental compensation benefit a W MBA would get me if instead I decided to remain in my current position

2) Will getting a W MBA increase my likelihood of getting a job in PE post-MBA?

Thanks all!
