WashU vs Emory for MBB consulting

Trying to decide between WashU (Olin) and Emory (Goizueta) with MBB in mind. Ik neither is a true target, but both send a few kids each year. Does Emory’s Atlanta thing actually make it easier since Bain/Deloitte recruit heavy there, or do M/B/B show up too? WashU seems more Big 4 unless you’re top, but maybe its name carries better outside the South? Also curious if Emory’s pre-professional vibe helps more with prep compared to WashU’s more chill/collaborative culture. If MBB is the end goal, which one gives better odds?

I think at the junior level its all pretty similar #s wise from what i know (# hires between MBB in general), bain maybe a bit less because they dont have as many of those regional/satellite offices. From what i saw, WashU has more alum in MBB than emory, Emory ur kinda forced to go ATL so keep that in mind. WashU generally is midwest offices like chicago, detroit, st louis here and there. (mainly mck has those last two offices). I did see some of their alum are in mck NY, but not many were BAs and seemed to just be transfers. I do think having ATL as the home office makes it easier tho for current ppl.

Basically, you can get MBB from either school if you stand out, depends which office you think youd rather go to + what school you vibe with more imo.

Go to wherever you want to work after college. WashU is for the Midwest, and Emory is for the South. It'll help in your personal story, networking, and just your general drive/motivation.

Also, I think Emory has a little less competition in recruiting (less good colleges in the South), but also fewer spots (the Southern offices are a little smaller than those in the Midwest). Idk pick your poison.
